We have had several "red thread" events happen lately. The latest came on Mother's Day when we were introduced to our waitress at brunch and her name was
May. Our Mae had been on our minds all morning and we were discussing our China trip just before being seated at the table. Neither Rich nor I had ever met a "May/Mae."
That night we went to dinner at PF Changs. The fortune cookies arrived and we all tore in to them. Rich's read, "You will be receiving a very important letter very soon." Mine read, "You will take a wonderful trip very soon." My fortunes at PF Changs are usually not even fortunes, more along the lines of..."You are nice." The cookies never tasted so good!
We are on an emotional rollercoaster around here! Rumors abound with news of the next batch of referrals. It seems that there will be a record-breaking number of babies referred this month. One rumor says that our dossier date will be included, another says that we will miss the cut-off by five days. Every day brings another new rumor. Some say we could hear something next week, still others are certain we will not hear until June 1 or 2. Oh dear. Trying my best not to get my hopes up, but to also be a bit prepared for "THE CALL!!"
