SWEET BABY MAE

We received our FedEx package yesterday afternoon. It contained lots of information about Mae, as well as these wonderful photos. Mae had a complete physical on April 22nd and appears to be very healthy. We are told she has a great appetite, she loves to sit in the sun, and enjoys listening to music! Her favorite toy is a rattle. The Lianjiang Social Welfare Institute where she resides is fairly new, clean, and bright. She is being loved and well cared for until we can get to her. We have a care package ready to send to her tomorrow, I just wish there was some way that I could fit inside the box! This will be the longest 6 weeks of our lives.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We are overjoyed to announce the referral of our baby girl!

Here is what we know so far!

Chinese Name : Lian Jing Jun (pronounced Leeanne Jing June)
Soon to be: Mae Kathleen
Birthdate: October 17th, 2004 -- 8 months old! (she has 2.5 months on her baby brother Charlie!)

Resides at: Lianjiang Social Welfare Institute in the Guangdong Province, PRC
Weight at 6 months: 15 lbs.
Height at 6 months: 25"

Chinese babies are named for their characteristics and personality. We were told she is quiet (Jing) and elegant (Jun). Lianjiang is in the same province as Guangzhou. Guangzhou is the provincial capital where all adoptive families must end their trip with an appointment at the U.S. Consulate Office. This means that we will be in one place for most of our trip to China. We will leave 5-7 weeks from Monday! Not nearly soon enough! Look at those CHEEKS!!!!!

I am so very special, I have been from the start.
Before they held me in their arms, my family held me in their hearts.
And like a single drop of rain that on still waters fall,
My life and love will ripples make and touch the lives of all.
So read this precious story as step by step I grow.
I am a blessing and a gift as each page here will show.

Somewhere in China....

Somewhere in China is a baby girl who needs her mommy and daddy. She does not know it yet, but her tiny picture has been attached to our file full of documents. That file has finally found its way, halfway around the world, to Centennial, Colorado. It is now in the process of being translated into English, checked, checked, and rechecked.

Somewhere in North Carolina there is a mommy, a daddy, a big brother, and a little brother who really need their daughter and sister. They have waited and waited for the day that their phone will ring and bring them news from afar.

Baby Mae, on Monday, June 27th, we will finally know who you are. We are overcome with emotion and excitement. We love you already and long for the day that we will hold you in our arms. We will be yours forever.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
